Israel condemns new eco mosque

Bedouins in Israel's Negev desert have built the first ever ecologically-friendly mosque in a bid to beat Israel's ban on new building in the area.

The mosque has been built with a mixture of mud and straw. It stands on a windy hilltop overlooking the unrecognised Bedouin village of Wadi al Na'am in southern Israel. Around 85,000 Bedouin Arabs currently live in 45 unrecognised villages in Israel's southern Negev desert, most of which are under constant threat of home demolition by the Israeli government.
