Obituary
GAUCI. On December 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, GERALD (ex-Royal Navy), of Msida, residing at Fgura, aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Annie, his children Ronald and his wife Susan, Lorraine and her husband Pierre, Josie and Rex, and Maria, his grandchildren Dwight, Lara and Mark, his brother Żaren and his sister Maggie, in-laws and their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fgura, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Traffic diversions
Dingli Street in Rabat, from the corner with Tartani Street to the corner with St Pius V Street, will be closed to traffic on December 10 between 8.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.
Traffic from Ġ. Borg Olivier Street heading towards Rabat will be diverted to Tartani Street and to St Trofimu Street. Traffic from Ġ. Borg Olivier Street going to Dingli will remain unaffected.
Public transport routes 80 and 84, passing through Ġ. Borg Olivier Street towards Rabat, will be diverted to St Pius V Street and to Workers Avenue. Route 81 going to Dingli will remain unaffected.
Attard local plan
The Attard local council is inviting people to send in their views on possible amendments to the Central Malta Local Plans with regard to the locality.
The plans are subject to revision by Mepa and can be viewed at either the local council's offices from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and from 2.15 to 4.15 p.m. and on Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon or by visiting www.mepa.org.mt.
Suggestions are to reach the executive secretary by January 31 at 6, Main Street, Attard or by e-mail at attard.lc@gov.mt.
Sta Venera bazaar
A Christmas bazaar in aid of the Sta Venera parish church is being held at Miriam Hall, Parish Street, Sta Venera until December 14. The bazaar is open between 4 and 8 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays and from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Blood donation
The Mosta Talent Philanthropic Group will be holding two days of blood donation today and tomorrow between 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. at the National Cultural Centre in ir-Razzett tal-Markiż Mallia Tabone, Wied il-Għasel Street, Mosta.
Meeting on cactus
The Cactus and Succulent Society will be holding a meeting for members and those interested in cultivating such plants on Sunday at 9.45 a.m. at Din l-Art Ħelwa's offices in 133, Melita Street, Valletta.
Musical evening
The Arkadia Shopping Complex in Victoria will be holding a musical evening featuring the Victoria Clarinet Quartet on the occasion of its 10th anniversary celebrations. The concert will take place on December 15 at 7 p.m.
Crib on display
Fredu Muscat will be exhibiting a static crib at 56, Main Street, Birkirkara from December 18 to January 4. The exhibition will be open between 4 and 8.30 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8.30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Evening of prayer
The International Movement of Prayer Blessed Pope John XXIII will be holding an evening of prayer for peace and evangelisation of the world at the basement chapel of Sarria church, Floriana on December 17 between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.
Climate Action Day
Friends of the Earth will hold an evening of activities on the occasion of Global Climate Action Day on Saturday between 5 and 8.30 p.m. in Palace Square, Valletta.
