Biscuit lands man in court
A man who playfully threw a biscuit at a young woman has landed in court after the two allegedly ended up exchanging blows.
Mark Chetcuti, 20, of Naxxar is pleading not guilty to breaking the woman’s nose with a punch after she allegedly slapped him in the face.
The incident happened outside the PN Club in Naxxar on March 23. Mr Chetcuti was also accused of causing the woman to fear him and relapsing.
The prosecution explained that Mr Chetcuti threw a biscuit at Audrey Pulis. The biscuit hit Ms Pulis in the eye and, when he went to speak to her, she slapped him in front of all his friends.
Mr Chetcuti followed her out of the club, punched her and broke her nose, the prosecution said.

It was once all fresh and new,
Crunchy, crispy, chocolatey,
Clothed in a wrapper of blue.
It was once first out of the tin,
Mouldy, mushy, melted,
Is now tasteless - faces the bin.
The biscuit once loved for it's taste,
Ragged, ruffled, crumpled,
Is disregarded - tossed to the waste.
The biscuit confused at it's mistake,
Unloved, uneaten, unwanted,
Asks, "Why couldn't I have been cake?".
- Ruby.
Round in shape and lovingly baked
Probably with chocolate flaked
But heartlessly at woman thrown
And this fact now is widely known
A man, it seems, this vile act did
He was exposed, could not be hid
A nation follows this event
That led to anger being vent
A slap, a punch, a broken nose
Angry words, exchange of blows
But nobody cared spare a thought
For biscuit, baked and sold and bought
So gather round to bid farewell
To broken biscuit, it is well
That we join hands and bowed heads keep
And for culinary martyrs weep
